On July 1, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe approved the revision and modification of Recommendation Rec (2006) 2 on European Prison Rules. It is a system of (108) rules that configure the penitentiary model in Europe, based on respect for the human rights of persons deprived of liberty and the express recognition of the validity of rights during the execution of sentences, in the objective of social reintegration, the cooperation of prison services with external social services and the participation of civil society in the development of prison life and the training of personnel assigned to prison services.
